Use of Correct Adjectives
Later Latter Latest Last. Ooh!!
I may seem stupid right now. Right? So,
it's not at all "me being stupid" It's not at all
even a tongue twister. Right!
It is about the Adjective.
So think carefully before you speak. Yes.
Are you speaking it correctly or not?
So I'm talking about the current time the currently published novel of some author. Okay.
So today I'll be talking
about these Adjectives, which you should speak about carefully.
and basically, you should think before you are
speaking because, my darlings, you may be wrong.
So first of all, I'll be clarifying
what is the difference between later, latter latest and last?
Understand one thing later and the latest denote time
as in This is the later edition of this book.
So here I am talking about the edition of
the book which is being published after one book. Right.
So later here, is denoting time
now when I talk about 'latest'.
So This is the latest edition of his novel.
So later and latest denote time. Coming
up to the other ones.
Latter and the last one -they denote position or order.
For example, I know two boys
from my class, Rahul and Rohan.
The former one is a cricketer.
the latter one is a singer. So latter one
I'm talking about the person who is
positioned the second number of my spoken words.
So the next one is last.
So obviously he stood last in the race.
So I'm talking about the position.
So same goes with the other Adjectives,
as in elder, older, eldest, oldest.
Again, not a tongue twister. Mind it! Okay.
So elder or eldest, we denote to the person
who is senior to us in our age, but he's
into blood relation of you or any other person.
If I'm talking about any other person, right.
For example, he is my elder brother.
So I'm talking about my brother who
is being born with the same mother.
I am in relation with my
brother, but he's senior to me.
And He is the eldest of his family. Okay.
Or he's the eldest son of him. Right.
I'm talking about anyone who is
into my blood-related family. Okay.
Now coming up to older ones here.
Here also, you're talking about the person who is senior
in age, but that person may be your friend,
maybe your neighbour or anyone, but who is not
related to you in terms of blood.
So He is older than my son.
So I'm talking about some other person
who is older than my son.
He is older than my friend.
So I'm talking about again, another
a person who is my friend.
But he is not at all
blood-related to me.
Okay!One
extra tip ! We do not write or speak
'Than' after elder, as in, he is elder than me. No. Wrong.
He is elder to me. Right.
And in another case, when I'm talking
about 'older', I will be using 'than'.
He is older than my brother.
So these are a few adjectives that you should know
and please think before you speak them. Right.
Thank you. Bye-bye. Rise and shine!!
